Roadmap to Assisted Living & Your Rights – Materials Now Available

Many thanks to everyone who was able to attend KABC’s September 10th caregiver training, “Roadmap to Assisted Living & Your Rights.”  State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Camille Russell and KABC Executive Director Margaret Farley did a wonderful job with their presentations.  We are grateful that they shared their knowledge and expertise with us.

If you weren’t able to attend, or if you’d like a refresher, Ms. Russell’s full presentation is now up on KABC’s YouTube Channel.

If you’d like a print version of her Power Point, click here: Resident Rights – Ombuds 2021.

Ms. Farley discussed that assisted living residents do not have the same rights when it comes to appealing a forced discharge from their facility.  KABC continues to work on getting HB2004/Charlie’s Bill passed by the Kansas Legislature.  This handout explains the issue and how important it is for this bill to be passed.

KABC host free trainings just like this year-round, and we would love to see you at them! Join our mailing list today and get notice each month of our upcoming caregiver trainings and events.

Kansas Advocates for Better Care is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. We are able to host free trainings like this thanks to our generous members and donors. Liked what you heard? Help us continue to educate caregivers for free with your donation.
